No doubt you’ve heard of a Moscow Mule, the drink that has seduced so many of us into buying a set of highly-impractical copper mugs. However, you may be less familiar with the Kentucky Mule, a not-so-distant cousin of the original recipe that swaps out the Moscow Mule’s vodka for bourbon. As sacrilegious as subbing a dark spirit for a light spirit may seem, we can assure you that bourbon puts a worthy and delicious twist on this classic cocktail.
The best way to enjoy a bourbon-based mule? Make a Bearcat Mule with Bearcat Bourbon Orange Peel & Spice. Our one-of-a-kind infused bourbon has just a hint of orange peel and aromatic mulling spices, making it the perfect compliment for ginger beer’s signature ‘kick’. With or without a copper mug, we think you’ll love this Bearcat cocktail recipe.
Bearcat Mule:
2 oz. Bearcat Bourbon Orange Peel & Spice
½ oz. Fresh Lime Juice
3 oz. Ginger Beer
Orange wedge, for garnish
In a cocktail shaker, add ice, then combine vodka and lime juice and shake until chilled. Strain into an ice-filled mug (preferably a copper mug, obviously). Top with ginger beer. Garnish with an orange wedge.
